..is a bad idea. I feel like I bought the whole store! This morning I went to Trader Joes to pick up food for the next week: fruit, veggies, dairy products, and munchies! Most of what I bought is in the picture below and as you can see I tend to buy organic products (even for my dog, see the treats on the right!).
What do I plan on doing with all this food? Well for starters, the bananas I currently have are getting overly ripe, so I need to make some banana bread asap! Secondly, I saw a recipe (from a fellow blogger) that looked absolutely delicious and decided to buy the ingredients to make it soon. I’ll give you a hint, its called ‘Quinoa Primavera’. Yes, it is a play on pasta primavera, but with a twist! I will try this recipe and write a post about it next week, so stay tuned!
I also went to goodwill (cuz I like seeing what they have once in a while, you never know what you’ll find!) and scored some awesome stuff! Got some more running and yoga tops! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE brand new clothes when I can afford them. Oh the life of a graduate student and being on a tight budget. I’d rather spend more on food, so I can get all this great organic stuff. You are what you eat right? Plus I spend my saved money where it also really counts: good shoes, socks and race events. Luckily my birthday is coming in a couple months 🙂 Between the books, coffee mug and tops I spent less than $20. Pretty awesome right?
