Recently I got the opportunity to test out a brand of shoe inserts for running from currexSole! Check out what my feet and lower body thought of these inserts below 🙂
What makes currexSole inserts unique?
currexSole offers a wide variety of soles, something for every shoe type imaginable. Plus you take a little survey or app test to customize the type of insert you need (running, hiking, cycling and more!). You just put in information about your body and presto you get a result! currexSole is the most awarded insole brand in Europe, they focus more on technology to help support your specific body and to help prevent injury.
Which ones did I test?
After taking a survey, I was matched with the currexSole RUNPRO Med profile (total of 3 profile options, low, med, high) for my running shoes. Their running specific RUNPRO features a dynamic and individual specific fit that is right in line with current footwear science and technology (zero mm drop so it won’t interfere with shoe construction and the insoles move with your feet vs restricting them).
They came within a week of taking the test and I only needed to trim a little bit off the outer edge to match the profile of my Asics shoes.
The website advertises the RUNPRO as:
Light, dynamic and pleasantly supportive, RUNPRO does its job: 100% power transfer to the ground. Less fatigue in the feet and calf muscles. You can reach new personal bests, whether in minimalist – or classic running shoes with a cushioned midsole and a 10mm drop. Get ready for the next level of running enjoyment! –currexSole
What my feet and lower body had to say:
The insoles are cushy sort of spongy feeling, not super stiff like other inserts I’ve previously used, like Superfeet. For the past month, I have walked and run miles with these insoles (I transfer the inserts between my walking shoes and running shoes) and so far have not had IT band flare ups or calf tightness (things I have to manage the most!).
Mileage: I usually walk about 2 miles each work day at lunch and running low mileage about 2-4mi 2x/week (since I’m doing more swimming and cycling for my summer tri series). I don’t know how my feet would feel after a half marathon, but I’m sure that if I train with these further, I’ll know how my body fares with them over long distances! But I can attest to their great everyday use for walking and running!
If you are interested in getting your own pair(s) for your shoes, I suggest
